The production reveals the absurdity of war. Through the eyes of a young girl, we witness the transformation of her city—filled with fear, violence, and horror, but also with hope. Her only wish: to go to another country, far away from the terrors of war. “Just yesterday I was playing with my friends in the courtyard. Now I’m not allowed to go outside anymore. When the thunder rumbles, I run to the basement with my mother. I don’t see my friends anymore, and the school is closed.” Classical puppet animation merges with live video projections and chalk drawings on a rotating table. The figures move between the real and the projected world, drawing the audience deeply into the story.

About the Group:
The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre is Slovenia’s central puppet stage, rooted in the country’s centuries-old puppet tradition. Today, the theatre combines classical puppetry with contemporary performance. While primarily aimed at young audiences, it also presents puppet productions for adults. With five permanent venues, up to twelve new productions per year, and the international LUTKE festival, the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre is a key player in contemporary puppetry.
