The Red Firefly delicately and intimately addresses the taboo subject of death. A performance full of magic, visual, and gestural poetry. Love and tenderness serve as forms of expression to journey between sleep and awakening, between life and death. Four stories, told by five puppets, connected by a red firefly born in the heart of the puppeteer, reminding everyone of the joy of life.
About Aran Rey:
Marionnetes Encendres is a solo company founded in 2014 by Aran Rey in Barcelona. The artistic goal of the company is to tell stories full of emotion that touch the hearts of people. The performances have traveled through Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, and Ireland, and have been presented at venues and festivals such as Titiricuenca (2015, Spain), Cork Puppetry Festival (2018, Ireland), Festival Transléonarde (2018, France), MIMA Mirepoix (off 2021, France), and Insifon Brussels (2021, Belgium).
