“The distinction between
past, present, and future
is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."
Albert Einstein

Somewhere, a woman sits at a table. Her memories and visions of the future are illuminated by an apparently banal table lamp, which, in the unequal duo of human and lamp, tirelessly attempts to gain the upper hand. Time does not seem to pass; rather, it appears to follow rules different from those of the real world. Past and future act as two navels, two poles, conditioning each other and fundamentally influencing and modifying key aspects of her identity.

And if our natural tension between past and future is divided, where is the present? The lamp and the performer establish a dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious, deceiving the viewer’s eye: Who is manipulating whom?

This quietly leads to resignation, to an acceptance of this absurd state of being, where the soul never remains still but hovers in a permanent dynamic balance between what we once were and what we will become.

Dance and puppetry blend seamlessly, without words and with great simplicity, into a poignant reflection on a central illusion of human existence—one that invites both smiles and deep thought, ultimately striking with unexpected profundity.
