Christoph Bochdansky is a long-standing and welcome guest of the festival. Known far beyond the borders of Austria, he is celebrated not only for his puppetry but also for his unique signature in puppet making.
This is what Bochdansky says about himself and the puppets:
“The puppet is a great seductress; it lures us to come over to its side. Its side is the non-living. Clever as it is, it seeks a connection with the puppeteer to show life, in its wonderfully fantastic way, together with him. A magic I have succumbed to my entire life. What does a puppet’s heart weigh? It is light, for with a light heart it performs all deeds, even the greatest misdeeds.”
Mon, Tue, Thu: 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM and 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM
