To the iconic music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the artists create a choreography for a vegetable ballet in which plant dancers take to the stage. The piece explores traditional theatrical forms as well as the diverse possibilities of puppetry. Created with the support of KALD DAMU and Nová síť. The production is non-verbal and suitable for all ages.A vegetable ballet with garlic, ginger, aubergine, six walnuts – and a rat.
About the Group:
Daria Gosteva and Anastázie Dobrodinská met at KALD DAMU, where both are currently studying.
Anastázie – known from Bube Rube (666 entertainment) and Fabula Sylvestris (Musaši entertainment company) – works as an actress and dancer.
Daria – with projects such as Dinopera, Moscow–Dachnoye and Heavy Theatre – focuses on scenography and directing. “The Nutcracker” is the next step in Daria’s exploration of traditional theatrical forms and the possibilities of puppetry, following the success of her famous tragic dinosaur opera Dinopera, which has been touring Europe for three years. As a ballerina who knows the world-famous ballet “by heart and by foot,” Anastázie explored the dance potential of vegetables and developed a unique choreography from it.
