A hand puppet play freely adapted from Shakespeare about power, courage – and the right to say no

Against the backdrop of a cardboard castle, Annika Schaper and Robert Richter combine hand puppetry and narrative theatre to tell a story that encourages you to get involved – even when you would rather stay out of it.
Henry is still young when he is crowned King of England. The country is in ruins, the خز treasury is empty, the people are unhappy – being king is not easy at all. And as if that were not enough, Henry also starts a long war against France.
Then Katherine appears: a princess who refuses to remain in her assigned role. Instead, she intervenes in the action, takes over the storytelling – and turns everything upside down. Even the narrator, who actually wanted to stay out of it, is drawn into the story.

Henry the Fifth is a play about war and power, responsibility and civil courage. It raises questions: Is it acceptable to simply watch when injustice happens? When does personal responsibility begin? And how does history change when you get involved?
